Investing in body and energy work is an investment in your health.
Shamanic Reiki with Lynn
Done fully clothed, energy balancing takes bodywork to a new level. Subtle, yet profound, this work is used to address every dimension of your being (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual).
- Reiki and Shamanism are individually powerful paths to healing. Combining the "laying on hands" technique of Reiki, with shamanic journeying, each of these paths are amplified. Together, they address energetically physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual imbalances, and aid the client in self-healing.
Myofascial release therapy (TAKING NEW CLIENTS NOW!)
While traditionally most massage and bodywork techniques are performed with the client unclothed and properly draped under sheets and blankets, with a myofascial release session most of the treatment is done on top of the sheets. It's recommended that clients dress in shorts and T-shirts (with women's wearing sports bras).
- This therapy targets the fascia, a sticky connective tissue (made up of collagen and elastin fibers) that connects and covers all muscles, organs and skeletal structures of the body. The fascia is what gives our body support and structure, and looks like a 3-dimensional web that runs throughout the body head to toe. It protects our body during injury and even at times overprotects our bodies causing areas of compression and restrictions which end up causing pain and eventually restricting or reducing ease of movement.
- This technique works to gently stretch the fascia to open these areas of restrictions in order to relieve pain and discomfort, help increase range of motion, eliminate pain, and increase blood circulation, among its many benefits.
- This is a safe and very effective hands-on technique which uses no lotion, and direct contact on the skin in order to better detect and work with fascial restrictions.
- A typical session will include areas where you note discomfort, along with other areas that are noted as requiring treatment in order to treat subjective symptoms as well as identifying and treating primary areas of restriction.
Massage
Sessions are customized, and most use a variety of techniques and pressure. A sample of techniques are listed below. Ask your therapist for more details if there is something you are looking for that is not listed. For more information, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.
- Swedish: A therapeutic style of bodywork, Swedish massage is perfect for when you are looking for relaxation and stress relief. It employs an array of strokes designed to provide wide ranging benefits including pain relief, enhanced mental clarity, improved range of motion. Pressure can range from light to firm (often, those seeking full body "deep tissue" are looking for "deep" Swedish"), and can include long gliding strokes, kneading, friction, tapping and vibration.
- Deep Tissue: This focused session uses slower and deeper strokes, and myofascial release techniques to the affected area or areas in order to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia in order to release tension and decrease chronic pain. Can help improve range of motion, and assist in breaking down scar tissue.
- Trigger Point and Neuromuscular Therapies: These therapies are used to help loosen tight areas within muscles (often with referred pain or discomfort) or connective tissue (fascia) surrounding the muscles. Direct, static pressure, or light gentle strokes with thumbs or fingers are used.
